Local Area
Gooseham Barton Riding Stables is central to: Hartland, Bideford, Kilkhampton, Bude and Holsworthy.
The surrounding area is a fine example of English coastal woodlands and valleys. There are many miles of excellent walking and riding to be had over the cliffs and through the woods along this stretch of coast. There are some of the highest cliffs in the South West just a mile from the stables with stunning views of the sea all year round. The numerous bridle paths in the area offer good views of the surrounding North Cornwall / North Devon border region. From here on a clear day you can see down the coast past Newquay into Cornwall as well as views of Bodmin moor and Exmoor. To ride through this area on a nice sunny day is a wonder and a privilege, at any time of year.
